عن الدكتورة
Dr Sara Cheikh Husain is an interdisciplinary critical sociologist and public intellectual. Her work interrogates how Muslim political subjectivity is produced, constrained, and recontextualised within multicultural liberal governance. She holds a PhD from Deakin University's Alfred Deakin Institute (UNESCO Chair scholarship) and brings a comparative Australian–Middle East perspective, bilingual in Arabic and English.
Her research spans Islamophobia as a racialised political technology, Muslim community organisations' political agency, media framing of Gaza, racialised barriers for academics of colour, migration precarity, and refugee resettlement. She is the author of The Politics of Anti-Islamophobia in Australia (Palgrave Macmillan, 2025).
